Soc 309: Rural Sociology

This course covers basic concepts for understanding and analyzing rural society. Topics include changes in major rural institutions, impacts of technological change on rural people and communities, demographic patterns and trends, migration, rural minorities and subcultures, the rural-urban relationship, emerging controversies and conflicts in rural areas, and cross-cultural comparisons of rural life.
