The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Prct 481: Comparative Health Systems

Pharmacy Practice

Designed to enable learners to develop a basic understanding of health- delivery systems and key issues confronting health care in the United States and in the study country. Explores issues such as the affordability of medical care, patient rights, health risks and behaviors, disease prevention, quality and access to care, the growth of managed care and corporate influence on health care, new medical technologies, the aging population, the impact of biotechnology, and trends in employment. Compare and contrast key health care issues and delivery in the study country with those in the United States using literature resources, internet and contemporary media, observations in the study country, discussions with guest speakers/co- curricular cultural events, and incorporation of self- and group- reflection activities.
