The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Anth 210: Cartels, Gangs, and Crime Syndicates

Sociology & Anthropology

This course examines organized crime from a global anthropological perspective. It provides an introduction to concepts such as outlaws, social bandits, gangs, the mafia, cartels, crime syndicates, the illicit economy, protection rents, extortion, and money laundering. The class also discusses efforts by governments, law enforcement, and international bodies to neglect, selectively contain, or eradicate organized crime.
