The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Anth 110: Ancient Plagues

Sociology & Anthropology

This introductory course explores archaeological and skeletal evidence of infectious disease and uses archaeological, bioarchaeological, and cultural historical approaches to examine how humans have adapted to infectious diseases through history. These epidemics affected how we view healthy versus unhealthy individuals, religion, medicine, and marginalized populations. They have caused also lifestyle changes through time that have led to the development of new diseases and their rapid transmission.
