The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Coun 662: Practicum in CMH Counseling

Leadership & Counselor Education

Students will engage in a supervised counseling experience in a clinical setting under the supervision of the course instructor and an on-site supervisor. Students will apply principles, techniques, and strategies acquired in previous coursework and demonstrate relevant acquired skills and developed competencies. Students must complete 100 hours of practical experience (minimum of 40 direct contact hours) and participate in weekly supervision with an on-site supervisor. Formative and summative evaluations of the student’s counseling performance and ability to integrate and apply knowledge are conducted as part of practicum.
