The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Ger 326: Gerontology: Social Welfare Aspects

Applied Gerontology

This intergenerational service-learning class provides an introduction to the field of gerontology with a foundation in the bio-psycho-social aspects of aging. Emphasis will be on incorporating current knowledge with experiential components to familiarize those in social work and related fields (health care, law) about aging and professional work with an older population. Community service learning opportunities will be an integral part of the course.
