B.S.N. in Nursing (2+2)
Description
The B.S.N. in nursing (a 2+2 program with the University of Mississippi Medical Center) prepares graduates for entry-level professional nursing practice and provides a foundation for graduate education in nursing. Nurses have many critical roles in health care today, such as assessing physical and mental health; providing health care in complex environments; providing health education to individuals, families, and communities; and working in teams with other health care providers. Nurses may choose to be advanced practice clinicians, educators, researchers, and health care executives by advancing their education.
Students must have a 21 ACT/1080 SAT to declare a B.S. in Nursing (B.S.N.) on the University of Mississippi Oxford campus.
Students wishing to enroll in the School of Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as juniors should first complete at least 62 semester hours, earning a minimum GPA of 2.5, with a minimum grade of C in all prerequisite courses. A minimum composite score of 21 is required on the ACT. A freshman early entry program is available for high school seniors who have a 3.5 high school GPA and an ACT composite score of 25. Please contact the School of Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for details.
