Prct 480: Introduction to Global Health & Pharmacy
Global health is defined as "an area for study, research, and practice that places a priority on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide."* This elective will introduce students to global health pharmacy practice and international health. Students will discuss practical and ethical challenges in providing care in countries and comparing those to the United States, describe tools and strategies to address the needs of diverse populations, and examine cultural awareness and its importance in ensuring optimum patient care. *Koplan JP, Bond TC, Merson MH, et al.
