The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

CJ 325: Emergency Management and CJ

Criminal Justice & Legal Studies

This course examines the issues pertaining to emergency management and the U.S. criminal justice system. The course provides an overview of the characteristics, functions, and resources of an integrated system and how various emergency management services (fire personnel, police, security, health care providers, etc.) work together in a system of resources and capabilities. Emphasis will be placed on how this system is applied to all hazards for all government levels in the U.S., across the four phases and all functions of emergency management. It includes the role of national, regional, and local services in a variety of man- made and natural disasters. This course is intended for a broad audience including personnel in public service, emergency fields, health care facilities, first responders and others having an interest in gaining a working knowledge of preparedness.
