CSD 632: Professional Ethics
COMMUNICATION SCIENCES & DISORDERS
An introduction to ethical and professional issues that speech-language pathology professionals will encounter. Includes an overview of service delivery systems, business aspects of service delivery, scope of practice, quality assurance/assessment, legal and ethical responsibilities, professional organizations, clinical research, telepractice, interprofessional practice, career development, and relevant local, state, and national policies and procedures for ethical and effective evidence-based service delivery; models of collaborative team assessment and treatment applications for a variety of speech-language pathology settings; professional organizations; and recognition of potential external influences that may have an impact on treatment objectives and length of intervention.
