The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Course Requirements

The minor in African American studies consists of 18 semester hours, offered in conjunction with other departments. Students planning to pursue a career in teaching, social work, law, public service, race relations, or the helping professions will find the minor to be an asset. The program's two-course introductory sequence (African American Studies 201, 202) is required. Six additional hours must be chosen from African and African American history courses. Also 6 hours must be chosen from African and African American political, social institutions, and culture courses.
