The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Degree Requirements

The academic regulations for this degree program, as entered in the University of Mississippi Catalog, are in effect for the current or selected academic year and semester. The University of Mississippi reserves the right to 1) change or withdraw courses; 2) change rules for registration, instruction, and graduation; and 3) change other regulations affecting the student body at any time.

Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction

Requirement Hours Description
Field experiences Student must complete at leat 65 hours of field experiences as approved by his/her GPC/Chair.
Select an emphasis Select an emphasis in elementary education, secondary education, or special education.
Scholarly paper Student must submit a scholarly paper to a refereed journal.
GPA requirements A cumulative average of not less than 3.0 (B) must be achieved in all graduate work taken.
Engineering Dean's approval This Degree Audit program is an advising tool only. The student must still apply for a degree by returning a completed Degree Application Form to the dean's office before the last day to add classes in the semester preceding the semester in which the stuent expects to graduate. The Dean's Office will make the final certification that the courses listed on the application qualify the student for graduation. The Dean's Office will also determine if other university requirements (GPA, etc.) have been met.

Edci 635 - C min 3 Complete Edci 635 with a grade of C or better.
Edci 658 - C min 3 Complete Edci 658 with a grade of C or better.
Edel 601 - C min 3 Complete Edel 601 with a grade of C or better.
Edel 767 6 Successfully complete at least 6 hours of field study (Edel 767).
Educ 555 - C min 3 Complete Educ 555 with a grade of C or better.
Edrs 501 - C min 3 Complete Edrs 501 with a grade of C or better.
Edrs 605 - C min 3 Complete Edrs 605 with a grade of C or better.
Elective courses 9 Student must complete at least 9 hours of electives including 3 hours from the emphasis area and 6 hours of general electives. All courses must be approved by the student's GPC/Chair.

Edse 767 6 Complete at least 6 hours of field study (Edse 767).
Elective courses 18 Student must complete at least 18 hours of electives including 6 hours of foundation courses, 6 hours from the emphasis area, and 6 hours of general electives. All courses must be approved by the student's GPC/Chair.
