The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Overview

The Department of Computer and Information Science offers the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (B.S.C.S.) degree for engineering students. For students in the College of Liberal Arts, the department offers a minor and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in computer science. At the graduate level, the department has offerings for the Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in engineering science. The latter graduate degrees are listed under the School of Engineering.

The B.S.C.S. is a professional degree program accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012, telephone: 410-347-7700.

Other Information

CSci 111 is the typical first computer science course for those studying in the B.S.C.S. program, the B.A. computer science major, the computer science minor, the computer engineering emphasis in electrical engineering, and the management information systems program in the School of Business Administration. Typical first courses for other students would include CSci 103, 191, and 251.
