The African-American Studies Program offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and minor in African-American studies, which are interdisciplinary programs that focus on the African-American experience in the United States, especially in Mississippi and the South. Its objectives are to encourage students and faculty to examine the black experience, to facilitate a cultural and intellectual atmosphere on campus that will be favorable to such studies, and to undertake a program of research and service.
The policies and regulations contained in this online University of Mississippi Catalog are in effect for the current or selected semester. The catalog is not a contract, but rather a guide for the convenience of students.
