SW 301: CAST: Child Maltreatment & Advocacy
Social Work
This course covers the history, comparative perspectives, legal framework, reporting, identification, and effects of child maltreatment, and professional/community responses to child maltreatment. The course will allow the student to examine skills necessary to do the work and exchange ideas with students from diverse academic disciplines. The course is designed for students majoring in areas where knowledge of child maltreatment and advocating for children might be necessary. Much of the work will be hands-on and participatory.
