Soc 348: Culture & Soc in Lat Am & the Caribbean

This course studies the historical and cultural development of Latin American and Caribbean societies, with emphasis on issues such as legacies of conquest, U.S.-Latin American relations, patterns of economic development, expressions of popular culture, cycles of political change, relationships to the environment, and changing dynamics of gender, class, race, ethnicity, and nationhood.
