CJ 678: Social Contexts in Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice & Legal Studies

This course examines how social, cultural, and community contexts shape the practices, policies, and decision-making of criminal justice organizations. Attention is given to group dynamics, communication, and social interaction within justice settings, as well as to the challenges and opportunities of working with varied populations that come into contact with criminal justice agencies. Students will analyze how broader social forces influence training, policy development, and professional practice in the field.
