The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Soc 316: Sociology of Sport

Sociology & Anthropology

This course centers on sport as a way to understand society and culture. From soccer’s centrality in international diplomacy, to American football’s importance in fashioning and promoting collective identities, to how women and racial and ethnic minorities use sport and are used by sport to achieve mobility and recognition, sport remains one of the most powerful tools through which to analyze and understand social, cultural, and political life.
