The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Certification in TESOL

Description

Students who elect to get their certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) learn best practices in the teaching of English as a scond language. This graduate certificate program is designed for students seeking add-on endorsements to their current teaching certifications, for students seeking to teach English overseas, and for students preparing for graduate training in TESOL, applied linguistics, or a related field.

Minimum Total Credit Hours: 18

Course Requirements

The graduate certificate in TESOL requires 18 hours of graduate coursework including Lin 600, Lin 651, Lin 687; and 9 hours of Lin electives.

Other Academic Requirements

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for courses counted toward the certificate. The time limit for completing the certificate program is four years.
