The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

B.Accy. in Accountancy

Degree Requirements

The academic regulations for this degree program, as entered in the University of Mississippi Catalog, are in effect for the current or selected academic year and semester. General Education

Requirement Hours Description
English Comp I 3 Complete Hon 101, Writ 100 or Writ 101 with a passing grade.
English Comp II 3 Complete one of the following courses with a passing grade: Liba 102, Writ 102 or Hon 102.
Math 267/261/271 3 Successfully complete one of the following courses with a grade of C or better: Math 267, 261, or Math 271.
Math 167/268/262/272 3 Successfully complete one of the following courses with a C or better grade: Math 167, 268, 262, 272.
6 hrs humanities 6 Complete 6 credit hours of humanities chosen from the following areas: African- American studies, classics, modern or ancient languages, history, honors, philosophy, religion, southern studies, or gender studies.
3 hrs behavioral science 3 Complete 3 credit hours of behavioral science chosen from the following areas: anthropology, geography, journalism, political science, psychology, and sociology.
3 hrs fine & perform arts 3 Complete 3 hours in the area of fine or performing arts. Choose from art history, music, dance, and theatre arts.
6-8 hrs science 6 Complete 6-8 hours of natural science courses with labs from the following areas: biology, chemistry, geology, physics, or astronomy, Liba 150 and Liba 151
2 science labs 2 Successfully complete at least two science laboratory courses. Courses may be chosen from the departments of Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Geology and Geological Engineering, or Physics and Astronomy as well as Liba 150 & 151.
Accy 201 3 Complete Accy 201 with a passing grade. A minimum grade of B is required in Accy 201 to take Accy 303 (a required course for accounting majors).
Accy 202 3 Complete Accy 202 with a passing grade. A minimum grade of B is required in Accy 202 to take Accy 303 (a required course for accounting majors).
Econ 202 3 Complete Econ 202 with a minimum of a C grade.
Econ 203 3 Complete Econ 203 with a minimum of a C grade.
Bus 230 or Econ 230 3 Successfully complete Bus 230 or Econ 230 with a passing grade. A minimum grade of C is required in Econ 230 to take Econ 302 (a required course for accounting majors).
Bus 271 or Speech 3 Successfully complete one of the following courses: Bus 271, Spch 102, or Spch 105.
Bus 250 2 Complete Bus 250 with a passing grade.
Math 269 3 Complete Math 269 with a passing grade.
6 hrs mod lang or lit survey 6 Student must complete one of the following requirement: - 1) 6 hours of literature - 2) 6 hours of modern or ancient language.

Accy 304 3 Complete Accy 304 with a passing grade. A minimum grade of C is required in Accy 304 to take Accy 401 and Accy 402 (required courses for accounting majors).
Accy 309 3 Complete Accy 309 with a passing grade. Accounting majors may repeat this course only once for credit. For students entering the Master of Accountancy or the Master of Taxation, a minimum grade of C is required.
Accy 310 3 Complete Accy 310 with a passing grade. Accounting majors may repeat this course only once for credit.
Accy 401 3 Complete Accy 401 with a passing grade. Accounting majors may repeat this course only once for credit. For students entering the Master of Accountancy or the Master of Taxation, a minimum grade of C is required.
Accy 402 3 Complete Accy 402 with a passing grade. Accounting majors may repeat this course only once for credit. For students entering the Master of Accountancy or the Master of Taxation, a minimum grade of C is required.
Accy 405 3 Complete Accy 405 with a passing grade. Accounting majors may repeat this course only once for credit. For students entering the Master of Accountancy or the Master of Taxation, a minimum grade of C is required.
